New Chevrolet Model Blazes the Trail to Thailand

This past fall, enthusiasts got a glimpse of the 2013 Trailblazer concept model. While the revamped utility vehicle won't be arriving at Chuck Nash Auto Group, 3209 North Interstate 35 San Marcos, TX 78666 anytime soon, we're thrilled to see images of the production-ready variant.

Why would we look forward to seeing a model not made for the U.S.? Simple, you never know which emerging new Chevrolet vehicles will offer up technology for American-made models of the future. That, and we simply love staying on top of all the latest Chevy news of course.

Offering up three-row mobility to overseas consumers, the 2013 Trailblazer will traverse the trails of the Thai market first. After hitting Thailand come June, the model will then move on to many other global locations. Starting with the engine, Trailblazer drivers will pull power from either a 2.5- or 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder. The smaller variant spits out 150-hp and 258 lb/ft of torque while the larger of the two adds on a bit more oomph with a total output of 180-hp and 346 lb/ft of torque.

In regards to the model's purpose, Martin Apfel, President of GM Southeast Asia and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, says, "True to its name, the Trailblazer will blaze the trail for new Chevrolet vehicles coming into the market. It has been built tough to offer Chevrolet customers everything they need from a heavy-duty SUV."1
